Living St. Louis: LVT Alligator Landing Craft

Living St. Louis tells the story of a World War II era LVT Alligator Landing Craft that was rented from the Armed Forces Museum in Alton, Illinois for use the film FLAGS OF OUR FATHERS. The LVT, built in St. Louis by the St. Louis Car Company, is one of the few remaining in working condition and a link back to the time of World War II and the history of St. Louis.
