On November 7, 2012, Nine Community Cinema in St. Louis Missouri held a public screening of “Solar Mamas,” at the Missouri History Museum. “Solar Mamas” follows Rafea, a Bedouin woman living in a small Jordanian village close to the desert. With encouragement from the country’s Ministry of Environment, she leaves her village for the first time to go to the Barefoot College in India to train to become a solar-energy engineer.
Nine Community Producer Andy Lombardo recorded these community reactions to “Solar Mamas.”
