Living St. Louis producer Kara Vaninger profiles Mission: St. Louis, which works in neighborhoods all over the city empowering young men to be leaders in their families and communities — with a focus on helping them to become job ready. In an effort to create more internship and, eventually, job opportunities for these men, the not-for-profit opened Revive Thrift Shop, partnering with a local furniture rehab business called Anew Nature to provide retail and tool literacy training. Donated furniture is used for training purposes then sold in the shop, with all of the profits going back into the program.
