Introducing Women, War & Peace Episode 1: I Came to Testify
Premieres on Nine PBS at 10:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 11
The first episode in the series, “I Came to Testify”, premieres on Nine PBS at 10:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 11. “I Came to Testify” was presented last month here in St. Louis as a special showing from The Nine Network and Fontbonne University’s Bosnia Memory Project. If you didn’t happen to see the film then, it’s the story of how a group of 16 women who had been imprisoned and raped by Serb-led forces in the Bosnian town of Foca took the witness stand in an international court of law. As a result of their courage, new international laws were created to address sexual violence in war.
And be sure to tune in every Tuesday night till November 8 as the other episodes of this groundbreaking media initiative make their premiere on Nine PBS. Click here to read more about the upcoming episodes, see more clips from the series and join the Women, War & Peace online community.
