St. Louis, MOFebruary 22, 2012—One thing Donnybrook cast members Charlie Brennan, Wendy Wiese and Bill McClellan agree on is the importance of reading. The three celebrities will each take a turn reading a Dr. Seuss book out loud to party goers at the Dr. Seuss Birthday/Read Across America Weekend on February 25 and 26 at The Magic House, 516 S. Kirkwood Rd. 

The party takes place from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 25, and from 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 26.

Bill McClellan will read on Saturday at 2:00 p.m., Charlie Brennan will read Sunday at noon and Wendy Wiese will read Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Other celebrity readers are Missouri state Rep. Rick Stream (Saturday at 11:30 a.m.), St. Louis County Executive Charlie Dooley (Saturday at 12:30 p.m.) and Mercy Children’s Hospital’s Dr. Maggie Mueller (Sunday at 1:30 p.m.)

The Nine Network and Mercy Children’s Hospital invite everyone to the festivities at The Magic House. With a paid adult admission ($8.75), the Nine Network will give free admission to children age 11 and under who bring a new Dr. Seuss book ($5 minimum value) to donate to the Joplin school district. The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That! is broadcast Monday–Friday at 7:30 a.m. on Nine PBS. On Friday, March 2, Nine PBS will air The Cat in the Hat-a-Thon, a two-hour special featuring four episodes broadcast back to back beginning at 7:00 a.m.
