I Scream Cakes Featured on September 1 Episode of Sunday Arts

Nine PBS Series Highlights Unique Bakery in St. Louis’ Cherokee Street Neighborhood


St. Louis, MO—August 28, 2013—This week’s episode of Nine Network’s series Sunday Arts, broadcast Sunday, September 1 at 1:00 p.m. on Nine PBS, features I Scream Cakes, an artsy bakery in St. Louis’ Cherokee Street neighborhood. I Scream Cakes takes cake decorating to a whole new level under the creative touch of a former tattoo artist turned baker who elevates ice cream and cakes into an art form. 


In other segments, this episode of Sunday Arts features photographer Petronella Ytsma whose work illuminates the long-term effects of Agent Orange and dioxin on American veterans who were exposed during the Vietnam War; the celebration of Apollo Theatre’s 80th anniversary and its role in American culture and African-American artistry; and a young woman who transitioned from jump-rope champion to Cirque du Soleil performer.
