The Nine Network’s Dr. Seuss Birthday Bash at The Magic House

The Cat in the Hat Invites Everyone to the Celebration on March 1 and 2


St. Louis, MO—February 27, 2014—The marvelously mischievous feline known as the Cat in the Hat purrs into town for the Nine Network’s Dr. Seuss Birthday Bash at The Magic House on March 1 and 2. The weekend party celebrates the 110th birthday of beloved author Dr. Seuss and is part of the National Education Association’s nationwide Read Across America weekend. 


The party, hosted by the Nine Network and The Magic House, 516 S. Kirkwood Rd., takes place from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, and from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 2.


Party goers are welcome to bring cameras to take photos with the Cat in the Hat. The Magic House will have a selection of props to pose with, as well. Children can also listen to notable St. Louisans read from their favorite Dr. Seuss books, play Seuss-themed games and make their own Cat in the Hat hat. Admission to The Magic House is $9.50, but children 11 and under coming to the party can get in free if they bring a new Dr. Seuss book ($5 minimum value) to donate to children in need.

The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That! is broadcast Monday–Friday at 7:30 a.m. and Saturdays and Sundays at 6:30 a.m. on Nine PBS. Beginning Monday, March 3, Nine PBS will celebrate Dr. Seuss’ Birthday Cat-ebration with four new episodes: two debut March 3 at 7:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m., and one each debuts on March 4 and 5 at 7:30 a.m.

About The Magic House, St. Louis Children’s Museum

The Magic House is a not-for-profit participatory museum that provides hands-on learning experiences for children and families and encourages experimentation, creativity and the development of problem-solving skills within a place of beauty, wonder, joy and magic.
