FREE Towboat Tours at the St. Louis Arch riverfront
Come tour the M/V Donna Rushing, the greenest working towboat on the river!
Ever wonder how big a towboat's engines really are? Ever wonder what it would feel like to sit up high above the river in a real Captain's chair? Or how life as a cook on a working towboat would be?
Now you can find out!
Owned and operated by AEP River Operations, the eco-friendly towboat M/V Donna Rushing will be OPEN TO THE PUBLIC FOR FREE tour s on Saturday, May 18th and Sunday, May 19th.
The towboat's crew will be stationed around the boat to answer your questions as you walk through the boat, all the way from the engine room to the galley through the crew's living quarters up to the wheelhouse.
You'll learn about how a towboat works, what kinds of things are moved in the barges a towboat pushes, and what life is like living and working on the river from crew members who do it every day.
