Gateway Gallery presents 'Exploring the Landscape with Paint'featuring Daniel Fishback
May 2-31 Gateway Gallery will present the paintings of resident artist
Daniel Fishback, "Exploring the Landscape with Paint". Artist Reception May 10, 6-9pm at 21 North Bemiston in Clayton. A self-taught painter, Daniel started painting the landscape in 1998 after a few adult education drawing and watercolor classes. Inspired by his love for the outdoors as a child while visiting his Grandmother, Daniel especially enjoys being around streams, rivers, and lakes. He believes the beauty of the landscape is enhanced when juxtaposed with a body of water, reflecting elements of the land, trees, boulders, and the sky. With each painting Daniel tries to place the viewer at the scene. He has been told tha this paintings hae a great sense of depth. His aim is to create paintings that viewers not only feel like they can walk into, but are so inviting they wish they could.
Guest Artist Denzil Hawes-Davis will exhibit reflections of "Stillness-in-motion" through the lens of his camera. Guest Artist and World traveler Cheryl Dorris will exhibit photographs featuring the changing light of various vistas. 3D Guest Artist and well-known sculptor, Carol Fleming will display functional and non-functional sculpture including her famous egg and mushrooms.
Gateway Gallery is owned and operated by local artists who offer a diversity of style and media.
