The Dream: Presented by The Winter Family Collection and the 'Dreamer'
The Dream opens with a 5 p.m. reception on Friday, Aug. 15. This remarkable exhibition will feature 85 works of art from 25 artists. Included in the exhibit is a unique and eclectic selection of sculptures, paintings, drawings, fine art prints and artifacts from around the world. Many of the works are from The Winter Family Collection or are personal favorites from the private collection of the Dreamer himself, Richard L. Winter.
It is the goal of The Dream exhibition to share the joy of the social, educational and aesthetic experience of art. Throughout the span of the exhibition, special events with the visiting artists Alicia LaChance, Edson Campos, Mackenzie Thorpe, Harry Weber and representatives of artist Bruno Vekemans will be scheduled at the museum.
ABOUT THE COLLECTOR:
Richard Winter is a native St. Louisan, an area businessman and owner of The Garden View Care Centers. He actively supports many local charities and art organizations, and currently serves on the boards of:
Jazz St. Louis, Shakespeare Festival St. Louis and the Executive Advisory Board of the College of Arts and Sciences at Saint Louis University.
Previously he was a board member and president of Dance St. Louis; was a board member of the community advisory board of the College of Fine Arts and Communication at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, and he has also served as Chairman of the Missouri State Council on the Arts.
Richard and his wife, Kathie, who was also raised in the St. Louis area, believe that supporting the arts and other charitable organizations are vital to making Saint Louis a great community.
