St. Louis Mercantile Library Lecture Series


The St. Louis Mercantile Library at the University of Missouri- St. Louis proudly presents "St. Louis in its Golden Age, 1840-1880," a series of fourteen speakers over eighteen months exploring varied aspects of life in St. Louis and across the nation in this pivotal period of American history.

On Sunday September 21, at 2pm, Carlos Schwantes, St. Louis Mercantile Library Endowed Professor of Transportation Studies at the University of Missouri- St. Louis, will discuss Opportunity Reborn: When Saint Louis Reoriented its Compass of Opportunity During the 1870s and 1880s.
